From Botanical to Bold: Introducing Jo Littlejohn

Every so often, you meet someone and feel an instant creative connection. That’s exactly how it was when I met Jo Littlejohn last year. We got talking—about art, of course—and when I discovered she was an artist too, I was thrilled. As anyone who knows me can attest, I’m always delighted to meet fellow artists, especially those with a shared love for nature and detail.

Jo’s work left a lasting impression on me from the start. Her botanical paintings are nothing short of exquisite—so intricate, so patient, and so peaceful. As someone who adores flowers and all things gardening, I was naturally drawn to her style. Her art captures not just the form of flowers, but their quiet beauty. It’s the kind of work that invites you to pause, breathe, and look a little closer.

I knew almost immediately that Jo would be a perfect fit for our Proclaiming Art Autumn Online Exhibition. When I asked if she’d consider joining us, she said yes—and I couldn’t have been happier.

But that’s not all—Jo is also taking an exciting step in a new direction. Alongside her botanical work, she’s beginning to explore abstract art, venturing into unfamiliar but promising creative territory. It’s always inspiring to watch an artist evolve, and I can’t wait to see what emerges from this next chapter of her journey. Knowing the depth, beauty, and care in her work, I have no doubt it will be something truly special.

Take a moment to explore Jo Littlejohn’s work. Whether you’re a fellow nature lover or someone seeking quiet beauty in a chaotic world, her art is bound to move you.

Stay tuned for her feature in the upcoming Proclaiming Art Autumn Online Exhibition. You won’t want to miss it.
