Introducing Andrea Wood - Environmental Artist Combining Photography & Sculpture

I first met Andrea Wood whilst attending an art seminar at art gallery in Redcar a few months ago. As often happens in creative circles, we struck up a conversation and quickly found common ground in our artistic practices. After swapping socials, I was delighted to invite Andrea to take part in the Proclaiming Art Autumn Online Exhibition.
Andrea’s work is a dynamic fusion of photography, sculpture, and installation. She embraces unconventional materials, processes, and techniques to push boundaries and provoke thought. At the core of her practice is a deep concern for the environment. Through her art, Andrea addresses and raises awareness of the escalating environmental crisis, prompting viewers to reflect on their own relationship with the natural world.
Her conceptual approach is grounded in scientific research and informed by current environmental discourse. Whether repurposing discarded materials or experimenting with ephemeral forms, Andrea brings attention to the urgent need for sustainable change.
I’m genuinely looking forward to showcasing Andrea’s thought-provoking work and sharing her powerful message with a wider audience through this season’s exhibition.
